This is a variety of celebrities portraits that I have chosen to draw. There are features in each one of the actor/actresses that I have chosen. Keanu Reeves for instance has a jaw line and facial structure that I find appealing and therefore he choose different pictures of different ages and hair styles to try to recreate. Angelina Jolie is another person who has incredible features that look well when captured and put in a different medium. I have chosen her to do paper cuttings of her different portraits, as well as Keanu’s and Bob Marley’s. Paper cutting of the celebrities are a two step process, first I have to draw the celebrities portrait and then make it into a template for me to do the paper cutting. I choose to stay in the black and white with some shades of gray in the portraits. I could layer paper in the paper cuttings to show depth and to add other colors. There are a few celebrity portraits that I did in color but the black and white ones also become templates for my cuttings so I save time in creating the templates for the paper cutting. Keanu has seen two of the portraits I have done of him and has also autographed the design I had put on to a t-shirt. This can be viewed on the mix media page.
